He whisked Him to the top of a mountain, whence He could witness the wars, pestilence and misery upon the face of the earth.

“Yield to me, and I will give you the power to end all of humanity’s suffering.”

“Never! Their only way to salvation is by worshipping the Lord Jehovah through Me.”

“So be it,” he said, returning Him to the wilderness.

Lucifer smiled.

Judgment Day was a long way off, and there was time for his strength to grow before the Apocalypse.

“Now this world is mine,” he thought, and thus darkness has reigned to this day.
