The Expedition, by Russell Conover

The cat wasn’t feeling well, and all who saw her were desperate for a solution. Finally, Alice thought of alternative treatment.

“Send her to Pluto,” a nontraditional doctor suggested. “They have some new medicines there.”

So, Alice’s cat became only the second to survive in space–and with the medicine obtained on Pluto, she recovered fully. Alice was ecstatic.

“I was so worried!” she gushed, fluffing her cat’s fur and cooing. “And what material for Friday Flash Fiction–except it’s true!”

The cat let out a huge yawn and went to sleep.

Typical feline, but the Friday tradition lives on.
