The Magnificent Snake, by Fliss Zakaszewska

(F.F.F. Website Story)

I’m magnificent; long, broad, silky-smooth, and when I move, the blue-green of my skin shimmers in the light.

My objective? To stay alive; stalk my prey – snakes are my main quarry as I slither through my world. My size strikes terror into lizards as I encircle them before I gorge on their flesh. They wriggle and turn to escape me.

What’s this? A young serpent’s stalking me, trying to entrap me? Too late! I’m dissolving as this youngster pounces….

“Tee-hee! I ate you, Grandma.”

I look at Elsa and switch off my iPad. Never-ever-ever play Slither-IO against your seven-year-old granddaughter.

I seem to have failed to post this story to the blog right after it was written and published to the F.F.F. website. My apologies to the author and to our readers. — Russell
